So for a while I have been threatening to go to this place - having followed and drooled over their Facebook and Instagram accounts (follow them) I was becoming overly eager to visit and more importantly; eat!
Cast & Crew is one of Belfast's newest breakfast/lunch/brunch hotspots, located beside our famous twins Samson and Goliath, the restaurant brings local delights to our amazing & ever growing Titanic Quarter.
Breakfast
- COLOMBIAN EGGS - scrambled eggs with chorizo, spinach and cherry tomatoes served on sour dough and topped with avocado -- £8.50
- ULSTER FRY - all that you would expect with a dollop of homemade beans -- £7.50
- GRANOLA -homemade granola with Clandeboye yogurt and mixed berries --£3.00
Lunch & Brunch
Lunch and brunch is divided up into 3 sections; Dogs, Burgers and the Rest! Here you can get a selection of American Style Hotdogs, almost any burger your wee head can imagine and the rest includes soups, chowders and salads - so something for everyone really!
I went for the Crew Burger - a 6 oz beef burger topped with bacon and cheese with tomato, red onion and house relish served in a brioche bun (£9.50) and Laurie picked a HotDog (to be honest I feel I forced her into this, I wanted to try a burger and a dog) anyway, she got the Original Hotdog, smoked dog with pickles, mustard and ketchup (£8.50)
Food Verdict
I'll be honest, when I first saw the burger I was a little disappointed, it looked small! But after my first bite that disappointment vanished quicker than Liverpool's title hopes, the burger was thick, juicy and had a charcoal finish - you could definitely tell that it had been cooked on the BBQ and it twas very yummy! The HotDog was really tasty, I ditched the pickle (not a fan) but the mix of mustard n ketchup and the crunch of red onion was was a joy to behold!
P.S. the crunchy slaw served with my burger was immense!
3 uber cool things about C&C
1. The outside dining experience - as you approach the front doors you see Belfast's Biggest BBQ so you know you're in for an alfresco treat
2. DOG FRIENDLY - holy smokes, I kid you not - this place welcomes your best friends and even provides funky water bowls!
3. The tills - this is a strange one for a food blogger to pick but these were seriously cool, the till was like a massive iPad where you could pay your bill, add a tip, and rate your experience, very funky
