A Flying French Village Visit

Sundays in Belfast can often be a drab affair, our silly licensing laws mean that until 1pm we are limited in our adventure choices - fortunately eateries do not abide by these ridiculous rules and we are free to explore our great city and turn a drab Sunday into a more exciting one!

On the recommendation of Perfume Shop Serena myself and Laurie headed to the newly opened French Village on the Lisburn Road. We had been meaning to try this place for a while so it was great to finally visit.

So the first thing I noticed when I walked in was the massive fridge of heaven - a space filled with sugary beauty, volcanoes of cream and treats that looked more like art than food! The waitress might have thought I was a little weird as I took about 34 photos in the space of 10 seconds - here's a few of my captures!

So these are just a select few - I obviously got over excited as the rest of my photos are a blurry fuzz and to be honest these pics don't do the treats justice - they were soooo shiny!!! P.S. they start at £1.50 to take away and maybe £2.50 for sitting in.

Now I was cooking today as Seany (pop-in-law) was celebrating a birthday so we only called in for a wee coffee and a tray bake! I decided on a Flat White (quickly turning into a fav) and Lauren got a medium Cappuccino - was massive for a medium, and we got a wee Caramel Square to share! £6.90 for the lot - bargain.

I am super proud of that 3rd photo, if anyone comes across a coffee photo capture competition let me know, because that is a winner right there! The Flat White was really cool, it came in a plastic container that was hollowed out so it was really light and looked like it defied gravity, I actually nearly spilt it trying to get a better view!

So, no food this time but I did have a sneaky peak at some of the dishes being brought out, I near broke my neck to check out a girl's club sandwich and from what I saw I was impressed! I also spied a wee look at the Kimchi Singapore Chicken Wings which looked amazing! Here's a sample of one of their menus - they have a Sunday Brunch, a lunch and a breakfast menu so a few reasons right there to return. Also the decor was right up my alley, exposed brick and wood panelled walls mixed with bruised brass furnishing and cool lights made this a super wee place for a quick cup of coffee, a light bite with some friends or a relaxed first date!

On a final note the staff were really friendly - service was quick, food looked good and coffee was amazing - just a few reasons you should head to French Village.
