I had visited here a few times before I started blogging, Laurie's Aussie friend Damien was a regular and had told Laurie all about the place - we went for coffee and were really impressed. That was about 8 months ago and since then EST Coffee has grown into and become one of Belfast's most popular coffee hang outs - here you will find a wide mix of patrons; nuclear families, friends, students, men with cool beards, gym goers, casual and business folk can all be found enjoying one of Belfast's smoothest coffees and if they're lucky/smart they will be consuming one of their daily specials.
So myself and Lauren decided to go - probably about 6 weeks ago - to grab some Sunday breakfast. I went for a homemade potato waffle (like no other) topped with a Pheasant Hill sausage patty and garnished with relish, kale and seeds. The best part was definitely the waffle, as fluffy as a cloud and when paired with the relish and sausage each bite was a mini delight. Specials range from about £5.50 and you can add ingredients or extra meat etc... my dish below cost £6.80 (I've attached menu at bottom of blog)
Laurie went for the porridge, blueberry compote and toasted Almonds she doesn't really do hot breakfasts... Anyway at £3.50 this was an absolute steal - so tasty and actually really filling, Lauren didn't even finish it - she tried as it was sooo tasty but I managed to help her out! :)
I polished off my breakfast with an absolutely superb coffee - I went for the cappuccino! Make sure when you go to check out the daily specials, try one of their signature teas and sit back and enjoy your time in arguably Belfast's coolest cafe.
As promised, here's a wee snapshot of the menu - get planning your trip and if you do, let me know how you get on!
Cheers, Conor
