Five Fab Foodie Finds

I know the blog has been quiet recently but I hope you've been keeping up to date with my foodventures on Instagram! Anyway over the past month I have uncovered some super food finds, and here I am to share my top 5! (in no particular order)

1. The Plough Inn - 3 The Square, Hillsborough BT26 6AG

Located at the top of the hill in the popular and picturesque Hillsborough this family run establishment has been serving up top grub for over 30 years. I recently visited for a family meal and was more than impressed with both the decor and the food - a very extensive menu, amazing offers and a very friendly atmosphere - it was easy for this to be one of my top five finds!

PERFECT FOR - a family meal

DON'T FORGET - to check out the newly opened Vintage Rooms for a drink after your meal

2. Boojum - 4 Victoria Square, Belfast BT1 4QG

The popular franchise has opened a new store in the stylish Victoria Square, making it the perfect place for a Mexican munch - ideally located just in front of the new Alfresco dining area this foodie find serves up exactly what you'd expect - Burritos, Fajitas, Burrito Bowl and nachos galore! I was lucky enough to attend the opening and was impressed with the rustic seating and really impressed by the new and improved Mexican rice - I'm not a massive coriander fan so the new Mexican rice works for me! (P.S. Coriander is rotten, ughhh)

PERFECT FOR - your one stop lunch spot in the city centre

DON'T FORGET - I am a massive fan of the Burritos but if your extra hungry go for a bowl, IMO you could feed a family of 4 with one!

3. Boston Grill - 2 Lisburn Leisure Park, Lisburn BT28 1LP

An American diner located in the heart of Lisburn - affordable prices, a vast menu and one of the tastiest platters I've ever had made this a simple choice for my top 5. My burger pic got a massive response on Twitter and Instagram (see below) and I've had a lot of enquires about this place. The juiciest of burger and the spicy nachos were enough for me - I've already headed back with the Kardonnelly's on a double date! Friendly staff, spacious surroundings (you def don't feel crammed in) and bright lights make this a trip worth making!

PERFECT FOR - a pre-cinema bite to eat - a very affordable date idea

DON'T FORGET - massive massive portions, always ask for a doggy bag! Supper is sorted

4. Souls Restaurant - 89 Dublin Road, Belfast, BT2 7HF

if you're not sure what type of food you want this is the place for you - a fusion of foods under one roof! I've checked out both their lunch menu and their Sunday Dinner. The lunch menu gave an insight into their ethos with a range of dishes including a Spicy Chicken Tikka naan wrap (this was my fav), Fish and Chip cones, Paneer Tikka, Meatballs and many more! The Sunday menu was more traditional with the option of roast beef and all the trimmings so there really is something for everyone!

PERFECT FOR - Mixing and matching different cuisines

DON'T FORGET - Check out the local art work hanging around the walls and check out the deals on the Ohh Social App!

5. The Skinny Kitchen - 91-93 Boucher Rd, Belfast BT12 6HR

Newly opened The Skinny Kitchen sits within walking distance of 5 or 6 gyms - smart business move, another smart business move was adding all the nutritional details to the menu so you can track exactly what you're eating and an even smarter business idea was the simple concept of making extremely tasty fu@kin food! What I also like is that you don't have to be in your gym gear to turn up... this is a place for everyone and the menu reflects that - now everything on the menu is healthy but if you want a burger, you can get a burger - the choice is yours. I've been a few times, probably 5 or 6 so there's no hiding that I am a big fan!

PERFECT FOR - A Pre or Post gym session meal that will HIT all the buttons ( See what I did with the exercise pun)

DON'T FORGET - to check out the drinks menu - can lemonade be healthy? Check out their black stuff!
